Traveling Train through Italy

Back when I was in Italy, for an number of months training it ALOT. I usually found myself starring out the window taking in the view and imagining where those people where going or what was it like in this or that small town. I wanted to capture the feeling of seeing these view come and go through the train window.

California Nights: Long Exposures Photographs

On the most recent trip to California we experienced the beauty of nature after the sun went down. It was a truly wonderful and peaceful adventure. I am a huge lover of long exposure photography because it's not an immediate thing and you might actually have to wait more than a few second to see the photo and you get image that is invisible to the naked eye. it's almost like magic . It's also an adventure finding a great location and getting to experiment with different lighting and effects.  Most of these photographs were taken at Joshua Tree State Park.

B&W photo assignment

After close to 2 years I finally decided to post this collection. Photos were taken last darkroom photography class while attending Temple Rome. I wanted to capture the reality of Italian food culture from the friends and family I spent time with. Although, the big plates of pasta is still something true..just minus the spicy meat-a-balls...

This collection was displayed at the Global Temple Conference in  November 2014

Views from Istanbul

Photos were taken on a recent trip to Istanbul. The purpose of the trip was for a friend wedding but that did not stop them from showing us around the center of Istanbul. They also were kind enough to show us the best baklava around.

More Wine Please

I would've never found this festival, if not for my Italian connection ;)...Tucked up in the mountains of the Basilicata Region, Vaglio Basilicata put on a PERCORSO ENOGASTRONOMICO (Or Wine Tasting Event) in the beginning of August. There you can buy a 2 euro bracelet to sample the wines from the local Cantinas. But, in order to find these Cantinas you must navigate, not only the narrow and steep streets but, also the sea of people.  If not for the crowd of young people outside each cantina, you might just pass one by! Inside the Cantina's is equally as crowed with people all trying to get a sample of wine (or 20 samples or to fill a water bottle with wine).  There was also a variety of local foods to try, beer to taste, and music to dance to. The event seemed to take over the entire town!

JFK -Milano

My trip to Italy started on my arrival in Milan. It was first time in Milan and I had a few hours to kill before getting on the train to my next destination.

To the Cattedrale, I went.

As I wondered off I was intrigued by the amount of wires hanging from street to street and excited by the lack of hills that I normally find in Rome!
